Description
TorZo is a unique, sustainable surface material comprised of agricultural byproducts and recycled wood. Its durable, easy to fabricate and can be used in a variety of applications, ranging from furniture to tabletops to kitchen countertops. In addition, TorZo is manufactured in the United States. The TorZo collection consists of five different materials: Indure, Orient, Durum Tiikeri and Parda. All are urea formaldehyde free.
Styles
Indure is a recycled wood fiber based product that is FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) Certified and is urea formaldehyde free. It is made up of approximately 65% post industrial, FSC certified wood fiber. Indure has a sleek, contemporary concrete appearance that provides a modern look.
Orient is a recycled chip based product that is SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) certified. It is made up of approximately 75% post industrial, SFI recycled wood material. Orient is a unique product that can create either a sleek modern look or an old world rustic look, depending on the application.
Durum is made from wheat straw, which is also considered a rapidly renewable resource. It is 100% formaldehyde free. Durum is made from approximately 70% post agricultural wheat waste product. Durum creates a warm organic and very natural look.
Tiikeri is made from reclaimed sorghum stalks. It is made from approximately 50% reclaimed material and has no added formaldehyde. Tiikeri has a natural, organic appearance.
Parda is comprised of recycled wood, with the appearance of a colored particle board. It is made up of approximately 70% recycled wood material. Parda has a hardness coefficient that is substantially higher than most hardwoods, making it an ideal product for high-wear surface applications. Parda creates a warm, organic look.
Colors
Indure and Durum are available in 4 standard colors: Onyx, Cocoa, Copper and Natural. Tiikeri is available in 4 standard colors: Bronze, Dusk, Midnight and Natural.
Orient and Parda are available in 8 standard colors: Onyx, Cocoa, Copper, Natural, Ruby, Amethyst, Turquoise and Sapphire.
Custom colors of each style are available upon request.
Applications
All five materials are suitable for the following applications: Furniture, Tabletops, Countertops, Vanities, Wall Paneling and Flooring. The janka ball ratings for the series range from 1,642 7,792lbs. This compares to a hardwood maple or oak flooring which has a janka ball rating in the 1,200+ range. Orient, Indure, Durum and Parda are all suitable for medium-traffic commercial flooring applications. Tiikeri, when treated with a polyester resin, is suitable for low-traffic commercial flooring applications.
Please note: Durum and Tiikeri are not recommended for undermount sink applications.
Finishing, Installation & Maintenance
TorZo is sold in resin-infused unfinished panels. Your local millworker or wood shop can cut and finish the material to size. The product must be finished with polyurethane or a varnish similar to those that are used for wood products.
