Fireclay Tile replicates the beauty of centuries old European stained glass with high crackle semi-transparent colors designed for its Vitrail Series – a classic collection of handmade square-edge tile available in over 112 unique glaze colors produced on a white stoneware clay body. The richness and depth of the Vitrail Series is evident in a shiny, semi-reflective gloss, a soft and smooth velvet matte, and a unique patine palette, created through an antiquing process applied to accentuate the crackled nature of the glaze.
For the eco-conscious consumer all Fireclay Tiles are handmade in their Northern California factory using sustainable manufacturing practices. The factory is day-lit and open-aired for ventilation. They recycle all of their water and manufacturing waste, and all glazes use natural materials and are lead free.
