Designed by Stefano Giovannoni for Magis
Based on the concept of material suspended between rigid structures
Magis Paso Doble Chaise Longue
The signature, sweeping movement of the toreador and his cape, upon which the traditional Spanish paso doble dance is based, inspired Stefano Giovannoni's seductive Paso Doble Chaise Longue. The Milan-based designer developed this piece, and the entire Paso Doble group, around the concept of material suspended between rigid structures, much like the sling suspension found on the Eames Aluminum Group chairs.
Giovannoni's design employs sturdy, roll-formed aluminum rails and flexible polymer mesh to create this lightweight and stackable lounge piece, available in many beautiful materials options for the seat and backrest and several frame colors, and with or without arms. As part of the Paso Doble group, it joins chairs, ottoman, and stool for a comprehensive indoor-outdoor line created by a designer known for his keen eye for structure, form, and simplicity.
