Manufacturer's Product Description

The Portofino lounge collection has a fun, whimsical quality. The circular shape and retro style, along with its simple and uncomplicated form make it an out-of-the-box option for modular furniture. The chairs nest into the coved ottomans with no need for connecting hardware. The pieces can be linked together to create intimate seating groups or used seperately. Designed by Jan Armgardt.

Functionality: The chairs and cove ottomans are designed to be used together or the chairs and round ottomans can be used as stand alone pieces. The chairs rotate allowing users to face each other for meeting and conversing or rotating away from the group to create privacy for the individual. The linking ottomans can be used as tables or additional seating.

Flexibility: Portofino consists of pieces that can be used alone or in a modular grouping. The chairs can be used as guest seating in a private office or a small corporate lobby. The chairs can also be linked using the double cove ottomans for larger spaces where seating groups are desired.

Durability: Constructed to the highest stanards in the USA, the pieces consist of SFI CNC routed, plywood frames. The precision cut pieces fit perfectly to increase the frames consistancy and durability. Premium high resiliency foam is used in the seat and back. Each piece is individually bench built.

Aesthetics: The Portofino is a chameleon when it comes to aesthtics. It can be fun, playful, whimsical and at the same time elegant, luxurious and trendy. It is at home in many environments. Textiles can be mixed and used to give the chair many different appearances. Its cyndrical shape and semicircular arms give the chair and ottomans a retro look that is at the same time contemporary.

Innovation: Portofino's innovation lies within its simplicity. The specifier can use the chairs in a lounge grouping, linking the pieces together while allowing for individuals to have their own chair. The chairs rotate on a self return base allowing the individual user to determine their seating position within the group. The linking ottomans can be used as additional seats or as tables.

Sustainability: The frames are made from California CARB compliant P2 plywood which is precision cut on CNC routers to reduce waste. E1 environmentally friendly glue is used in all foam construction.
