Plain Weave™ modular carpet takes its inspiration from early kilim weaving methods of nomadic people. The word kilim simply means a flat-woven rug, or a rug without a knotted pile. For the tribal weavers, connections with their natural environment were essential, and you see interpretations of these links in their craft. Plain Weave applies this concept of weaving with nature with its variation in line and texture, very much like the weavers' artisan rugs.
