Description

Founded in 1964 by Greek designer Nicos Zographos, Zographos Designs Limited manufactures corporate furniture for the contract market. From chairs and stools to tables and executive desks, Zographos is known for using high-quality materials. A specialist in conference and lounge furniture, Zographos pieces can be found in major businesses worldwide.

  • BE2— An elegant bench with mid-century lines, BE2 was designed in 1965. With a polished stainless steel base, the Two Bench features a rectangular welted pattern in luxurious bronze leather. At approximately 60” wide, 25” deep, and 16” high, BE2 presents a classic silhouette in a size that’s ideal for the contemporary work place. The bench is also a great piece for museums and libraries.
  • CH66— A dining chair combining leather with a stainless steel bar frame, the 66 Side/Dining Chair is dramatic and sexy. Grommet details in the back give CH66 unexpected edge. Available with or without arms, this chair, designed in 1966, is a tribute to classic mid-century materials. The leather seat and back slings come in black or brown leather. In conjunction with the stainless tube structure, the leather works to contrast the sheen of the steel with a rich and supple material. Nineteen inches wide by 22 inches deep, CH66 is the ideal size for a side chair. Its design takes it easily from the board room to the dining room.
  • TA35— A collection of low tables characterized by geometry and simplicity, the 35 Low Tables gleam and glisten without being overwhelming. Glass tops on polished stainless steel frames appear to float, giving a light and airy look. These materials work well in offices and lobbies, where they do not block sightlines, which helps create a sense of openness. Available in two square and two round sizes, ranging in size from 20 to 42 inches, most TA 35 tables have 14-inch heights, excepting the smaller square table, which measures 18 inches instead. The simplicity of these tables makes them versatile and appropriate for any office decor, from traditional to transitional to minimalist.

In 1960, Zographos made a name for itself by designing the Alpha base, a signature element of many of the company’s furniture. Under tables and bucket chairs, Alpha base “weightlessly and effortlessly floats off the ground.” Simplicity and modernity for the contract market define Zographos, a company whose pieces are part of the Permanent Collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
