Pulp Studio offers a large portfolio of decorative architectural glass. Products include laminated glass with fibers, textures, colors, graphics, photographs, and other substrates. Besides Pulp Studio’s decorative and graphic interlayered glass, the company manufactures pattern glass, glass floors, and MagBoards.

Description

Pulp Studio fabricates each piece of glass individually from customer’s specifications at its Los Angeles facility. The company can increase the level of opacity or transparency as desired, as well as manufacture safety glass with UV protection and sound attenuation.

  • Boing: Boing architectural glass embeds graphic interlayers that make the glass multi-dimensional. The Boing system “separates the graphic into various layers” to create a 3D effect. The multiple lamination layers allow designers and architects to embrace graphical innovation. While Pulp Studio offers eight patterns, all featuring mid-century geometry and bold colors—everything from circles and cubes to hexagons and diamonds—the company points out that its printing capabilities make any pattern possible, “produced in any color, opacity, or graphic concept.”
  • Fondo: Fondo Glass Flooring is specifically engineered for use as the top surface of a glass floor. Choose from many Fondo patterns that add texture and style; they all carry UL approval as a floor surface material. Fondo can achieve a minimalist look when used with minimal hardware, allowing “light to travel well beyond the floor or staircase.” Fondo flooring and stair treads give a sense of lightness, especially valuable in large areas where natural light is limited. From the minimal 1” thickness to whatever thickness the project requires for dead and live loads, Pulp Studio will manufacture Fondo as needed. The company offers different glass types, thicknesses, decorative substrates, warning stripes, and custom edgework. Fondo can even be combined with GLO to illuminate floor panels.
  • SwitchLite Privacy Glass: With SwitchLite Privacy Glass, the need for window treatments of any kind is eliminated. Now you can enjoy clean expanses of glass without worrying about the neighbors: “All the light you could want but with total MYOB privacy at the flick of a switch.” SwitchLite Privacy Glass transforms from clear to translucent, thanks to its Liquid Crystal sheet, which is bonded between two layers of glass. It works because the Liquid Crustal molecules disperse light, except when voltage is applied, at which point the same molecules “arrange themselves in a specific direction in a way that permits parallel light to pass through the glass.” And after much research and development, SwitchLite Privacy Glass is now certified to SGCC, ETL, and UL standards.
  • Pulp Studio is committed to combining unique glass materials with necessary architectural safety requirements. All of the company’s products pay special attention to compliance with necessary building codes. While it’s known for variety and innovation, Pulp Studio prides itself on safety and durability.
