When a deadly tree fungus struck the North American Chestnut in 1904 it wiped out the entire species. This precious product exists today only as a limited supply of carefully sourced reclaimed wood - greatly enhanced through decades of ageing. Antique Chestnut is characterized by a very deep swirled grain, creating an almost three-dimensional appearance. Boards range in colour from a delicious dark beige to a mysterious dark brown and retain all the added character derived from old nail holes, checks, watermarks and ancient wormholes. A true connoisseur's choice!
