Product Description

Island Living is proud to announce that our hand-carved reclaimed teak doors/panels have been awarded "Honorable Mention" in HD Expo's Earth-Minded Awards 2009.

Inspired by the great works of Balinese craftsmen, our hand-carved reclaimed teak doors can be customized to suit your design needs. Unique one-of-a-kind panels offer organic warmth and depth as a wall covering or can function as an entry or sliding door.

Sourced from original use teak in Indonesia, our wood, its age ranging anywhere from 50 to 200 years, is rich with history. Our reclaimed teak has been harvested from buildings, boars, docks, bridges and "Rumah Joglo", which are traditional Indonesian homes. The timber is then carefully selected and restored resulting in a rich mature finish.

Well-known for its durability, teak is termite and water resistant. The fact that our products are made with recycled timber, will provide a longer lifespan than if produced with younger teak gather within sustainable forests. As teak ages, it becomes hardened, nearly petrified resulting in a deeper texture and aged color richness. It's maturity guarantees minimal shrinking and/or cracking in varied climates as sometimes seen in younger wood.

We are confident that our designs are meant not only to last our lifetime, but to last the lifetime of generations to come.
