PRODUCT DETAILS

Manufacturer's Product Description

Restoration Glass® is the world’s finest mouth-blown window glass, found in our country’s most prestigious restorations, including the White House, Mount Vernon, and Monticello.

Resembles glasses made before the advent of modern window glass. Produced exclusively for Bendheim by Germany’s Glashütte Lamberts, craftsmen hand-make each sheet utilizing centuries-old techniques. Its subtle imperfections allow historically-accurate detailing of homes, buildings and furniture. Every glass sheet is hand-selected at the factory to ensure the finest quality.

Available in two varieties, Full and Light.

Full Restoration Glass® is more distorting and accurately represents much of the glass made in the 17th and 18th centuries. Its approximate sheet size is 24” x 36” with thickness of approximately 1/8”.

Light Restoration Glass® is less distorting and closely resembles glass found in structures built in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Its approximate sheet size is 34” x 38” with thickness of approximately 3/32”

Bendheim now offers both varieties of Restoration Glass® in safety form, laminated to 1/8” float (window) glass in compliance with today’s exacting building safety codes. Laminated Restoration Glass® is ideal for use in doors, sidelites, windows, or wherever safety and security are required. Both Full and Light Restoration Glass® laminated varieties are approximately 5/16” in thickness.
