During observations at numerous clinics and hospitals, researchers noticed the way patients’ families tended to gather and share and create their own space in the waiting room. The traditional waiting room lineup of chairs around the perimeter often makes this community creation difficult. In response to this need, the Neighbor™ family of seating offers chairs, tables and couches that can be arranged to foster these impromptu spaces. With high backs and a variety of components, the Neighbor collection allows waiting rooms to be divided into separate, more intimate spaces. Created by award-winning designer, George Simmons, Neighbor’s simple, rectilinear lounge seating is comfortable, but not overly contoured – allowing people to use the pieces in a variety of postures. Pre-assembled seating and table units are available, as well as custom modular buildups to meet specific needs.
