Campfire Collection
Campfire is informal furniture inspired by familiar indoor and outdoor spaces. Those places that small emerging companies think about when it comes to their idea work environments.

Campfire interprets favorite indoor and outdoor spaces for the office, creating a comfortable, vibrant work environment.

Through observational research, Turnstone designers realized that the entrepreneurial spirit in emerging companies fuels a culture of innovation. Cultivating that spirit requires places to mingle, escape and meet. People already know where to find those places outside of work: around the campfire, on a park bench, at a picnic table, or on the front porch. With Campfire, those same atmospheres have been interpreted for the office.

“We designed Campfire to create spaces within a space – places where people can gather and collaborate informally with tools that are not high tech but reminiscent of the places we love outside of the office. In fact, they’re low tech—simple,â? said Kirt Martin, design director, Turnstone.

Campfire is designed to enable informal work styles and encourage community and communication. Each element of Campfire works in multiple combinations to create work islands to help companies generate ideas, energy, contemplation and conversation.
•As comfortable as a living room couch, the big lounge is ideal for relaxed individual work or informal group meetings. (Inspired by the park bench.)
•The big lamp is not just about lighting. Its shade subtly defines space – creating a cozy nook within a large office. (Inspired by the preference to sit under a café’s umbrella even on a cloudy day.)
•The monolithic big table is just as appealing as the kitchen table at home. Informal and inviting, the big table functions as a meeting place or a workstation for four people. It also provides plenty of storage and space to spread out and work. (Inspired by all the great parties where no one leaves the kitchen.)
•A multiple design award winner, the paper table is considered the heart of the collection. People can gather around the table for the kind of easy conversation and collaboration usually found around a campfire on the beach. The paper or glass top rotates 360 degrees so everyone around the table can sketch, jot and share. Tear off the top of the paper version to make the ideas portable. (Inspired by the backyard bonfire.)
