The Solid-State Starter replaces existing Wye-Delta magnetic motor starter contactors, which require periodic inspections and maintenance. By smoothly controlling the amount of electrical current, Solid-State starters eliminate the large surge of motor start-up currents typical with mechanical starters. This eliminates power spikes that affect other electrical equipment. The result is quieter, more reliable operation and longer motor life.
Features
The Solid-State Starter reduces large spikes on the buildings electrical system. An additional solid state overload relay protects the motor from damage. Also incorporated into this product is a reverse phase relay designed to prevent the motor from plugging because of a line loss.
Applications
The Solid-State Starter is specifically engineered for hydraulic elevator use. It can be installed on hydraulic elevators with 6- or 12-lead delta wound motors. The starter requires an area of approximately 12 wide by 12 high by 9 deep to mount into the existing controller. For proper application, contact your local Otis representative.
