Designer

Born in Borgo Tossignano, Bologna, Italy, in 1959. He begins his architectural studies in Florence, graduating at the University of Milan.
In 1985, he begins to work for industry as an architect and designer and opens the Studio Iosa Ghini. At the same time he works on projects for which he develops experimental products relating to the subject of “speed”. In 1989 he enters the list of the top 100 designers worldwide.
From the beginning of his career, Iosa Ghini works as an industrial designer for international companies. Iosa Ghini also works as a consultant and designer for numerous Italian and internationally renowned companies, such as Cassina, Moroso, Poltrona Frau, Flou, Fiam, Snaidero, Ferrari, Maserati, Superga and Infostrada.

In the course of his architectural career, he makes a name for himself through exhibitions and cultural and commercial installations, and by designing department stores and showrooms throughout the world. His renown in Germany is due first and foremost to the central underground station in Hanover, which was commissioned for the Expo 2000.
The Studio which he founded in 1985 offers its select group of clients a special concept: The team provides its international experience in the fields of architecture and design not only on an aesthetic level. The entire creative process is incorporated into the projects, including aspects such as market research, general project conception, technical development, engineering, prototype development, design, corporate image and communications.
As a representative of the Italian design scene, Iosa Ghini has taken part in the most diverse international symposia and presided at conferences held at numerous universities. He has also sat on the jury at many international design awards and competitions.
