The Oval Drum incorporates the artistry of the lacquer technique into dramatic, contemporary forms. At 15" high, it is easily used as additional seating, or a graceful, sculptural side table. Lacquer is a highly regarded art form and has been used in China for over 6,000 years. No less than 60 coats of lacquer are applied in thin layers over a copper base that is dried and polished between each coat.
