Concept
Kastrup provides distinct and symmetrical illumination. The top shade is made of copper, which over time will turn verdigris or spun aluminum for the natural painted aluminum version. The underside of the top shade is painted white, which ensures an optimal and even reflection of the light. The reflector shades are designed with a polished underside to redirect the light downward and a matte finish on the top side to minimize glare.
Finish
Copper, brushed. Natural painted aluminum, powder coated.
Story behind the product
HW Patina post top was originally made for an upscale housing area in a suburb to Copenhagen called Bagsværd. The architects designed the whole housing area, so they had a clear opinion about what kind of outdoor lighting was needed. The design expression was equally as important as the characteristics of the light. Since this represents the core of the Louis Poulsen lighting philosophy the HW Patina immediately turned into a standard product. Kastrup was designed to meet an increased demand of higher levels of illumination for outdoor lighting. First used in a residential area in the northern part of Germany.
