Design Inspiration
This richly elegant fabric is inspired by a French silk bourette or rustic silk, dated between 1750 and 1810, in the Colonial Williamsburg collections. Both feature ikat patterns, where threads are resist-dyed before they are woven. This new interpretation of the original has been woven in 100% silk taffeta, with a raised ottoman rib stripe accenting its colorful ikat pattern.
