Design Inspiration
The name of this exquisitely detailed woven is French for "paisley shawl", which is the origin of this design. An antique wool paisley shawl was adapted into a pattern which has a grand 108" vertical repeat, echoing the medallion center of the original and its swirling paisley motifs and details. In a perfect length for floor -length curtains or a bed coverlet, this fabric has a side repeat; when seamed, it forms a continuous pattern. It can also be used on a large scaled wing chair, creating the appearance of a one-of-a-kind antique textile. Woven in traditional exotic shades of mulberry, sienna, orange and gold and also more modern shades of mocha and slate blue, it has a soft hand from Italian wool and cotton yarns. It is also quite durable for upholstery applications. This pattern is sold by the repeat (in 3 yard increments).
