Design Inspiration
This colorful print of flowers, leaves and birds has been adapted from a 1930's textile painting, which was originally created for a hand block print. Its simplified shapes are combined with decorative patterning, giving the print a fanciful, exotic quality. The art deco influence of this era is clearly seen in the stylized shapes and details of the leaves and flowers, as well as its bold exuberance. Printed on a linen union, this print complements the exotic shades of this season's wovens, from teal and turquoise, pear green, orange, rich red and chocolate brown.
