Design Inspiration
This dramatic, large scaled damask print was inspired by an antique indigo resist textile, a centuries old printing method in which the motif has been painted out with wax or paste to resist the dyes which color the cloth. Its monochromatic appearance and bold motifs are softened by subtly printed texture which occurs throughout the design, giving it a hand painted look. The fine linen ground makes this print suitable for draperies, coverlets and upholstery applications.
