Tilt-Slide Doors: An economical and practical alternative. These doors can tilt, and then pop inside and glide to the side much like a minivan door. Its superior air sealing capabilties over all types of doors make it the premier choice for passive houses. Tilt-Slide doors offer the tightest air seal of all patio doors, and are therefore preferred by many passive house owners. On top of their premium air seal, they are also more economical than Breezepanel or Lift-Slide doors. The disadvantages are smaller maximum leaf sizes and a more obtrusive threshold to step over.
