Product Description: An extremely hard and durable wood, comparable in hardness to ipe. Excellent for punishing decking applications, as well as for flooring, paneling, table and bar tops and other custom applications.
Source: Water recovered from forests flooded to create reservoirs in West Africa.
Species: Lophira alata.
Colors: Heartwood dark red, chocolate brown, or purple brown with conspicuous white deposits in the vessels; sapwood up to 2" wide, pale pink, well defined.
Millwork: As-is beams and dimensional lumber. Custom mill work available.
Net Dimensions: 1" to 2" thick x 5-1/2" to 13" wide x 7' long. Larger custom sizes available with additional lead time.
Character: Texture coarse; grain usually interlocked; luster low.
