Originally this log had a deep V running down two thirds of its length, with just small, fragile portions keeping the two pieces together. There was a lovely twist throughout, a result of the tree twisting and stretching to reach the sunlight above the canopy.

I broke the log apart, but it seemed to work better when each half was once again paired with its partner, dipping, stepping, and twirling.
