Great furniture designers, like the Shakers during the 19th-century and the Danish of the mid-20th century, often view design as an obligation to reflect a heightened social conscience. They strive to create objects of beauty for the betterment of everyday life. David Moser?s new Meridian Collection is firmly rooted in these ideals. ORDER TODAY AND DAVID MOSER WILL SIGN YOUR PIECES: Every piece of authentic Moser furniture is signed and dated by the craftsman who built it. To celebrate the Meridian introduction, David Moser will be adding his signature to the craftsman's on each Meridian piece in the first 25 Meridian orders. David?s acute sense for aesthetic details are found in the fine radius of the dining chair?s underside, the inverse matched radius at the top of the leg, and the optical correction effect at the termination of the chair?s crest. The independent yet strong single back slat is a first for David and accentuates the sleek lines. Another first is the use of ash as the primary wood. While also offered in cherry, the clean, crisp aesthetic of ash creates an uplifting lightness that matches perfectly with this contemporary design and allows the grain and texture of the wood to come to the fore. The finish on Meridan in ash is a clear lacquer finish with a UV inhibitor to protect and seal the ash and minimize the impact of light and air on the color of the wood over time. This will be the first time we have used this exact finish, but we expect it will be a durable finish and easy to live with. The finish on Meridan in cherry is our standard oil and wax. Like all our furniture, Meridian is guaranteed for the life of the orginal owner, and there is much more finish maintenance info available in our maintenence and care guide which can be downloaded by clicking here .
