Sentousai is a line of glazed porcelain mosaic tiles created by the Inax Corporation, from Japan. These mosaics are made up of equal length strips of porcelain in a staggered pattern. The face of each strip has a rough texture and the profile thickness of each piece varies.
Colors + Finishes
Pewter and White are the two colors in the Sentousai line.
Sizes
Each strip measures 9 1/4″ in length, 1/2″ in width, and varies in height from approximately 1/2″ to 3/4″. Each sheet measures 9 3/8″ x 3 1/2″ and is dot mounted on the back. There is a 1/8″ gap between each strip.
Installation + Maintenance
Sentousai can be installed using standard installation methods for thinset adhesives. Use a high quality adhesive from such manufacturers as Laticrete and Mapei, following manufacturers’ recommendations, depending on conditions. Grouting is not recommended. Clean regularly with mild neutral detergent.
