Manufacturer's Product Description

High-performance, economical firestop material effectively stops spread of fire and smoke at through-penetrations

Both FIRECODE® Brand Compound powder and premixed FIRECODE Brand Compound are much more economical to use than other firestopping products, especially for large-scale jobs with many different penetrations. The cost of alternative intumescent materials can be as much as 600% higher. FIRECODE Brand Compound is also economical, since caulking tube products are frequently discarded with some compound left, adding costly waste. With FIRECODE Brand Compound, you mix only what you need for the application at hand. A long working life gives you approximately 75 minutes of working time per batch. Compound sets in 2-3 hours, and several applications can be made from each batch.

FIRECODE Brand Compound is non-toxic. There are no silicones, solvents, halogens, PCB?s, asbestos or inorganic fibers of any kind. FIRECODE Brand Compound forms a very tough, very durable firestop. It withstands the thermal and mechanical shock of high-pressure hose stream testing. FIRECODE Brand Compound is autobonding, that is, fresh compound will bond to cured compound, which is a big plus when making repairs. FIRECODE Brand Compound powder mixes quickly and easily with water at jobsite. You can change the consistency of the compound to suit the application at hand. Premixed FIRECODE Brand Compound mixes easily with FIRECODE Brand Compound Activator powder for fast, easy application. It bonds to concrete, metals, wood and cable jacketing, without the use of primers.

Once applied, FIRECODE Brand Compound dries to a red color that is easily seen and identified by fire marshals. Once dry, it may be sanded smooth and painted with either latex or oil-based paints.

UL classified in accordance with ASTM E84 (ANSI/UL 723), ASTM E814 (ANSI/UL 1479), ULC-S115, and ASTM E1966 (ANSI/UL 2079).
