The Crate

Description:
It was the elementary and honest properties of a found wine crate that inspired Jasper Morrison to design The Crate. He discovered that the original found object was perfectly suited to many applications such as a bedside table, storage and occasional table and so re-appropriated, exactly, its scale and qualities.

The Crate is intended as a multi-functional, flexible, mobile and modular product. In homage to the original found object, The Crate romantically retains details, such as a slit in the back of the box, as integral features. The Crate is produced in pine and can be used in multiples to create a modular storage system or used individually as a small side table amongst many other applications.
