Efficient dispatching is key to performance. Today, the most efficient dispatcher in the industry is the Elevonic's RSR Plus® system that, with its algorithm of bonuses and penalties, consistently delivers the shortest waiting times with the minimum number of elevators.
The exhilarating but smooth ride of the Elevonic Class is achieved by multiple closed-loop systems which constantly monitor a car's performance, measuring every aspect against predetermined standards and correcting the slightest deviation within milliseconds.
The best safety record in the industry can be attributed to an on-going research commitment. Recent innovations include a high-tech alloy wedge face for the safety brake shoe which has exceptional temperature, strength and friction characteristics for improved braking performance and reliability. Moreover the LAMBDA® entrance-protection system anticipates passenger entry with an innovative hallway beam projection system and prevents doors from coming into contact with passengers.
As part of a global drive for a cleaner and safer environment, Otis continues to make significant strides with its own products and systems. The Elevonic Class, for instance, uses ACVF regenerative equipment wherever possible to return energy to a building's electrical grid for re-use. The gearless Elevonic AC machines further conserve power by reducing initial starting currents, improving train-drive efficiencies and eliminating carbon brushes.
An intelligent door
Door operation is critical to the successful handling of a building's elevator traffic. Otis' High Performance Linear Induction Motor (HPLIM®) door system, significantly reduces the number of moving parts resulting in more dependable and safe operation. And bearing in mind door problems account for some 40% of all service calls, the HPLIM system's superior reliability enhances a building's overall elevator performance.
Maximum passenger safety is obtained through the LAMBDA entrance-protection system. Using 56 infrared emitters and detectors, it creates an invisible safety net across the elevator entrance and also extends into the hallway. The microprocessor controller continually scans for interrupted beams and reopens the door without coming into contact with the passenger.
