Utility table #1 implements the use of minimal materials to create a table with both an element of clean aesthetics and universal function. The thick tabletop is reclaimed oak sourced from barn wood, which begins raw and full of cracks. The voids are filled with charcoal remains made from cut off scraps, which makes use the waste.
It also creates a beautiful play of unique calligraphic lines throughout the surface, and consequently is a tribute to the wood's history. Four salvaged and rebuilt aerol casters support the piece with industrial strength and mobility.
