Expert craftsmanship, rich details, lots of storage space and our exclusive Sun Valley finish make our Rustic Thomas Collection the ideal choice for the family room or family study. Each wall system features beadboarding, crown molding, dovetail joinery and frame-and-panel construction. The Sun Valley finish is achieved entirely by hand to create the warmth and character of an antique.
Our armoire wall system features removable rear panels and pocket doors that slide into the center space when open. Both the armoire and the cabinet/hutch set include an adjustable interior shelf. Cutouts in back accommodate electrical cords. The armoire comes fully assembled; assembly is required on the side cabinets. Armoire and the cabinet/hutch set can both be purchased separately. COMPOSITION:
Honey & Painted Finish: White Meranti* & MDF**. Oil based Sun Valley*** Paint and honey stain, lacquer sealant.
*Meranti is a very high quality mahogany-like plywood that originates in Asia. It is comparable fir, only tougher. It is less apt to check (hairline cracks along the grain). It is also near perfect in regard to the lack of core voids and the quality of face veneers compared to fir.
**MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard): A man-made fiberboard consisting of wood fibers and resin binders. Suitable for painted furnishings and commonly used as a base for veneers, MDF features uniform consistency with no knots. While its density is about the same as a medium-weight hardwood, it is more structurally stable and will not warp or crack. MDF adheres well to finishes.
***Sun-Valley: Developed exclusively for Pottery Barn Kids by a master furniture craftsman, our Sun Valley Finish adds the special warmth and patina of a treasured heirloom. This finish is achieved through a 25-step finishing process that brings out the wood’s natural beauty. A final coat of lacquer seals the finish and adds extra durability.
STORAGE OPTIONS:
Shelving accommodates Sabrina Baskets, sold separately in Medium and Large sizes.
Both sizes are 12" x 12";
