Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Guilford of Maine rebranded itself in 2011 to focus specifically on three markets: healthcare, office, and education. • Education— Guilford of Maine wants their education fabrics to be “refreshingly non-institutional.” Patterns such as Rock Star, a pattern with floating dots, crosses, and star shapes, are fun and funky, especially in bold colors like Limelight, a bright yellow-green. Subtler textiles will outlast trends: Otto presents a simple horizontal stripe with a rich texture, and Woodland features an abstract grainy look resembling the surface of tree bark.
• Healthcare— Offering cubicle, panel, and upholstery fabrics, the healthcare line by Guilford of Maine recognizes that “healthcare settings have to be sparkling clean.” Therefore, the company’s healthcare products are easy to clean and maintain.
